GTEC Rugby is extremely pleased to announce Karl Pokino as the new Head Coach of our FIRST Women's Premier team!! Yes you heard it right we are "Making Moves" to Premier rugby for the 2021 season.

Karl is a great all round guy, a knowledgeable coach and highly respected in the community. He has worked at Auckland Rugby as an RDO and has also been Junior RDO at GTEC, so he understands club rugby and development of all players extremely well. Karl has also coached at GTEC with the Premier Development and U21s.

With the explosion of Women's rugby the club is in a very good position to progress to the Premier competition. We want to grow the game and offer females of all ages pathways. There is lots of positive work still to be done but the journey ahead is starting to become clearer. Karl will be very important going forward as will a competent coaching/management team and all of the Lionesses players.

There are plans to introduce a Development team to offer rugby to players that want to play in that grade, this could be 10's or 15's. Please all join me in wishing Karl congratulations... and welcome to the Lionesses!!!
