Under 85s​

U85kg Rugby has been played in New Zealand for roughly 20 years. Played in the full fifteen 15 aside format, it offers an extremely competitive grade where all players are of a similar size right across the field from forwards to backs. With such similar weights, it allows for a fast, tough spectacle of full running rugby where all players are potentially playing like wingers. 

There are Representative teams across many Unions including Auckland, who are the current Northern Region Champions.

Games are played early Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm or Friday evening under floodlights across Auckland grounds. The season commences in early April and finishes in August. The grade breaks for both the Easter Holidays & Queens Birthday weekend.

• Taniwha

Both teams are highly competitive, orgainsed, play a great brand of rugby focusing on team inclusiveness with high standards also brotherhood on and off the field. We want to hear from new players who are most welcome also school leavers looking to continue their rugby journey.
